Fancy Dragons in Flamecraft modify enchantment math—cheaper upgrades, stronger sale values, or action tricks that change when you should Fire Up. They are not a separate victory track. This tier list ranks profiles for the Monster Couch digital adaptation based on demo visibility, synergy with Artisan Dragons, and resilience when 30 shops clog in local multiplayer. Full-release rosters may expand near September 17, 2026; tiers note when a ranking assumes demo card text only.

Tiers are S (plan around them), A (strong in most tables), B (situational), C (niche or setup-heavy). Always pair rankings with Combo Strategy and Enchantment Timing.

S Tier — flexible enchant engines

S-tier Fancy profiles appear when an enchantment bonus applies across multiple goods types you already produce, or when they effectively grant a free enchant step once per round. These dragons reward players who stabilized Gather lines in Beginner Tips and can Fire Up within two rounds of enchanting.

Why they sit at S: blocking one shop rarely kills the entire plan because alternate enchant targets still benefit. In two-player demo runs they can feel dominant; in five-player tables they still stay relevant if you protect anchor shops listed in Shops and Resources.

A Tier — spike damage and cost control

A-tier profiles excel when you know the exact good you will Fire Up—think specialty Artisans with one flagship product. Cost-reduction Fancy bonuses belong here when cash tempo matters more than breadth. They drop to B if your Artisan roster cannot feed them consistently.

Use How to Enchant to verify whether a bonus applies before or after shop modifiers; misreading order drops many A-tier profiles to B in practice.

B Tier — table-size dependent

B-tier Fancy Dragons shine in low player counts or quiet boards but lose value when every enchant shop is contested. Profiles that require three uncontested actions before paying off belong here unless you run denial combos from Combo Strategy.

Teach new players to respect B-tier profiles in solo scenarios—they can still overwhelm AI pacing—but downgrade them mentally when four other artisans hunt the same enchant tile.

C Tier — setup or meme picks

C-tier entries need rare goods, empty boards, or companion support from Companions to break even. They are fine for flavor runs, not for demo reputation records. Some C-tier profiles may climb after full-release patches; revisit this list when release info notes card changes.

How Artisans change Fancy value

A Fancy dragon paired with the wrong Artisan is automatically one tier lower. Before recruiting Fancy, confirm your Artisan produces the enchantable good every other round. Read Fancy Dragons for profile names and Artisan Dragons for production curves.

Demo versus full-release caveats

The demo exposes a subset of Fancy profiles. Rankings emphasize enchant flexibility because later shops and dragons may introduce new goods types. Avoid hard commitments to “always pick” profiles until you verify full-release patch notes.

Practical draft rules

1. If you cannot name two shops that benefit from the Fancy bonus, draft Artisans instead.
2. If two S-tier profiles are open, pick the one your opponents cannot easily block—check visible Gather intentions.
3. If you are learning, ignore C-tier unless How to Win scoring is already intuitive.
